2027: Rhodes-Vivour hints at gov bid, knocks Lagos spending

The candidate for the Labour Party in Lagos State’s governorship race, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, expressed his intention to run for the position again, acknowledging past mistakes and focusing on strengthening his political movement.

During an interview, Rhodes-Vivour stressed the importance of maintaining visibility and involvement in opposition politics, unlike the traditional practice of fading into silence post-elections.

He criticized Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration for what he deemed as excessive spending in the face of widespread hardship, pointing out alleged misuse of taxpayers’ money for personal legal bills and unspecified projects.

Rhodes-Vivour emphasized the need for accountability and transparency in government spending, especially during times of economic struggle for Nigerians and Lagosians.

Additionally, he highlighted initiatives such as health outreach programs and micro-health insurance plans aimed at providing free treatment worth up to ₦6,000 to residents of Lagos State.
