In Delta State, a man suspected to be over 50 years old has been apprehended by the State Police Command for allegedly assaulting a four-year-old girl in Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area. The incident reportedly took place when the child visited her grandmother’s home as instructed by her mother. Human rights activist Mr. Harrison Gwamnishu reported that the arrest was made promptly after a complaint was filed. The child was taken to a government hospital for examination, where medical staff confirmed the assault. The suspect was identified by the child and is currently detained at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ogwashi Uku pending further investigation.
The mother of the victim recounted the distressing experience, revealing that she discovered the assault after returning from a church event. She noticed something amiss when her daughter complained of pain and found evidence of the assault. Subsequently, she reported the incident to the authorities. Police Public Relations Officer SP Edafe Bright has confirmed the arrest and situation.
