A group of ninety-eight maritime delegates who were sponsored by the Presidential Amnesty Programme have successfully completed a specialized maritime-related skills refresher course at the Joemarine Institute of Nautical Studies and Research in Delta State. The completion of their training was announced by the Special Assistant on Media to the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
To mark the end of their one-month vocational training, a formal ceremony was held at the institute for the PAP maritime cadets. The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme highlighted that the training was part of the program’s initiatives for manpower and human resources development in the Niger Delta region.
Emphasizing the importance of the training, the Administrator noted that it aimed to equip the maritime cadets with essential skills for the country’s maritime industry, in line with the blue economy policy. He commended the cadets for their achievement and reiterated the program’s commitment to developing manpower and human capital in the region.
Acknowledging the support from the President and the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Administrator praised their dedication to the PAP and the economic growth of the region. The Managing Director of the institute expressed gratitude for the opportunity to conduct the training and proposed future certification programs for maritime cadets.
In a goodwill message, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly commended the Administrator for enhancing the program’s service delivery to the people of the Niger Delta.
