The organized labor unions in Bauchi State, including the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, have announced that they are making preparations to engage with the Bauchi State Government regarding the implementation of the new national minimum wage. A 13-man technical committee is set to be inaugurated to review and align salary structures in the state in line with the 2024 national minimum wage. The State NLC chairman, Dauda Sha’aibu, highlighted the importance of implementing the new National Minimum Wage Act in Bauchi during a press conference at the Medical and Health Workers Secretariat. The unions recently conducted a training session on negotiation strategies for minimum wage discussions at the state and local government levels.
