MKO Abiola left £650,000 for first four wives, says son Abdulmumuni

Abdulmumuni Abiola, a son of the late Nigerian billionaire Moshood Abiola, revealed that his father left £650,000 for his first four wives in his will. The distribution of the funds was disclosed during a podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye. Abdulmumuni also expressed disappointment in his brother Kola for not sharing their rightful inheritance from their father, citing reasons related to British law and discrepancies in the will.

Abdulmumuni shared the struggles he and his siblings faced after their parents’ passing, including financial difficulties and the sale of their mother’s UK apartment without their knowledge. He criticized Kola for allegedly targeting their mother’s side of the family while neglecting to address other aspects of the will that affected him and his sisters.

Despite the challenges, Abdulmumuni highlighted how his family persevered, with his sisters taking on odd jobs to make ends meet. The late Abiola was a prominent Nigerian businessman and politician, known for his polygamous lifestyle and his controversial presidency following the annulled 1993 election.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari posthumously honored Abiola in 2018 by moving Nigeria’s Democracy Day to June 12 and awarding him the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic in recognition of his contributions to Nigerian democracy.
