Missing Speed Darlington in police custody- Deji Adeyanju

A well-known activist, Deji Adeyanju, has confirmed that the artist and social media personality, Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, is currently detained by the Nigerian Police Force in Abuja.

Adeyanju, who is a lawyer as well, disclosed that Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, was arrested in Lagos last week and subsequently moved to Abuja, where he is still being held in custody. The arrest reportedly stemmed from a formal complaint filed by Grammy Award-winning artist, Burna Boy.

The details of the complaint were not provided by Adeyanju in his post on social media. Earlier, Constance Nwogu, a social media influencer, expressed concern over Speed Darlington’s whereabouts, noting his absence from social media for several days.

While the reason for Speed Darlington’s sudden disappearance remains unclear, speculations suggest it could be related to a video he made questioning Burna Boy’s Grammy award and linking him to musician Sean Combs, also known as P Diddy or Puff Daddy.

Burna Boy, in a post on social media, questioned “Who’s missing?” following reports of Speed Darlington’s disappearance, without directly mentioning anyone. Nwogu called on the public to provide any information that could help in locating the missing entertainer.

The police have not released any information regarding the situation at this time. Updates will be shared as new information emerges.
