The police in Ogun State have reported the arrest of two brothers, aged 43 and 41, for their involvement in the alleged kidnapping, robbery, and rape of a 17-year-old girl. The incident occurred when the victim ordered a ride online from Lekki, Lagos State to Abeokuta garage in Mowe, Ogun State. The driver abruptly stopped the vehicle, and the brother entered, threatening the victim with harm if she resisted.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, it was evident that the driver and his brother had planned the crime in advance. The victim was then taken to a different location where she was allegedly raped, robbed of her iPhone 13 Pro Max and cash, and a ransom of N200,000 was transferred to secure her release.
The victim reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspects. The stolen phone was traced to one individual, who then assisted in locating the suspects. Both brothers confessed to the crime during interrogation, revealing that they had sold the vehicle used in the act.
The recovered vehicle and the case have been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and potential prosecution.
