Kano police nab three for poisoning, stabbing victim to death

The Kano State Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected of being involved in the murder of a 32-year-old man, Dahiru Musa, in Dorayi quarters in Kano. The suspects were arrested following a report from the deceased’s brother who suspected foul play in his sudden disappearance.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, stated that the suspects were taken into custody after the brother of the deceased raised concerns about the missing man. The main suspect, Aliyu Adamu, confessed to conspiring with his friend, Mubarak Abdulsalam, to lure the victim to his house under false pretenses of discussing a land deal. They poisoned him, stabbed him to death, and disposed of his body in an abandoned building to take over his property.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Mubarak Abdulsalam and another accomplice, Sadiq Sunusi, who admitted to burning the victim’s body to destroy evidence. The remains were taken to a hospital for autopsy.

All three suspects are currently under investigation at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, with plans to prosecute them. The Commissioner of Police urged residents to be cautious and ensure they are accompanied by trusted individuals when engaging in business or social meetings, especially in secluded locations.
