The Niger Delta Development Commission has initiated emergency repairs on the deteriorated sections of the East-West Road between Warri in Delta State and Benin in Edo State. The repair work will focus on areas such as Ibadulume, Amukpe round-about, Mosoga, and Ologbo.
The Managing Director of NDDC, along with the Executive Director, Projects, and other Commission directors, inspected the ongoing repairs. The NDDC expressed appreciation to the government for the directive to urgently address the road’s condition to alleviate the challenges faced by the people in the region.
The NDDC Managing Director commended the Federal Government for re-awarding the contract for the road project, which had been neglected for some time. He assured that the project, overseen by the Federal Ministry of Works, would be durable once completed.
During the construction period, community members and commuters were urged to cooperate with the contractors. The NDDC assured that the repairs would be completed swiftly, with the contractor committing to finishing the job within two weeks. The construction firm managing the project outlined the specific portions to be fixed, including those in Ibadulume, Amukpe round-about, Mosoga, and Ologbo.
