UAE committed to Nigeria’s development — Envoy

The Consular General of the United Arab Emirates in Lagos emphasized the UAE’s dedication to initiatives and investments aimed at supporting Nigeria’s growth and development. This commitment comes in recognition of Nigeria’s unique position as a leading African nation facing both opportunities and challenges.

During a recent business forum organized by the consulate and Woodhall Capital, held in Lagos, the Consular General highlighted the importance of engaging with Nigeria to contribute to the growth of both nations. The forum, themed “UAE-Nigeria: Investors’ 1st Meeting,” provided a platform for UAE government officials to connect with select members of Nigeria’s business community.

The Consular General underscored the UAE’s focus on humanitarian efforts, attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Nigeria, and recognizing Nigeria as a strategic partner. Reasons why the UAE is an attractive investment destination were discussed, including its strategic geographical location, extensive shipping connections, and stable macroeconomic environment.

Woodhall Capital’s founder, Moji Hunponu-Wusu, shared insights on the UAE government’s commitment to Africa and its interest in exploring business opportunities in Nigeria. The forum facilitated discussions on potential partnerships and collaborations between UAE entities and Nigerian businesses.
