Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), recently praised Bishop David Abioye, his First Vice President, during a retirement valedictory service at Living Faith Church in Goshen, Abuja. Oyedepo commended Abioye’s commitment and grace, highlighting his seamless service over more than four decades in ministry.
Abioye, who led one of the church’s pioneer branches and became a bishop at 32, retired alongside Vice President Thomas Aremu following the church’s operational guidelines known as The Mandate. Oyedepo, in his prayer for Abioye, acknowledged his unwavering dedication and the continuous blessings in his life.
During the service, Oyedepo delivered a sermon on the potency of divine blessings, emphasizing the church’s success hinging on the Liberation Mandate, a divine plan. Pastor Faith, Bishop Oyedepo’s wife, also shared reflections on their enduring relationship with Bishop Abioye, recalling their humble beginnings and the growth of their ministries over the years.
Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre and Archbishop John Praise of Dominion Chapel International Churches lauded Abioye for his selfless service, dedication, and exceptional humility. In response, Bishop Abioye expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve under Bishop Oyedepo, attributing his ministry journey to fulfilling divine purpose rather than personal ambition.
Abioye emphasized the profound impact of his longstanding relationship with Oyedepo, spanning nearly 45 years, and expressed commitment to post-retirement activities guided by the Holy Spirit. The event celebrated Abioye’s legacy and contributions to the church, marking a significant milestone in his ministry journey.
