LG poll: Nasarawa APC unveils chairmanship candidates

The All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State has unveiled its chairmanship candidates for the upcoming local government council elections. The party’s primary elections committee head, Mr Tanimu Adamson, disclosed the successful candidates following a consensus-based selection process in accordance with the party’s constitution. The chosen chairmanship candidates for the 13 LGAs include Safiyanu Isa, Umar Dan-Akano, Jonathan Addra, Abubakar Madaki, Adamu Aboki, Idris Damagani, Bitrus Agbawu, Mohammed Ahmed, Iliya Aliyu, Isa Sani, Murtala Danmadami, and Ezekiel Jaga.

Adamson emphasized that the consensus candidates were decided upon after extensive consultations with party stakeholders and the candidates themselves. The party also announced that councillorship candidates for the 147 electoral wards were selected through the same consensus approach.

Aliyu Bello, the APC State Chairman, commended the committee members for their commitment and timely completion of their tasks. He expressed confidence in the quality of the party’s candidates and anticipated success in the election across all local government areas.

The APC had set October 14 and 16 for the councillorship and chairmanship primaries during a stakeholders’ meeting and opted for a consensus method to choose candidates for both LGAs and electoral wards.
