Anti-party: Fayose protests as Ekiti PDP recommends expulsion

The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has put forward a recommendation for the expulsion of a former Governor from the party. The party’s caretaker committee chairman presented this recommendation to the PDP disciplinary committee led by Chief Tom Ikimi. The former governor was accused of engaging in anti-party activities, particularly by openly supporting another politician’s bid for a second term, despite being from a different political party.

In response to the expulsion recommendation, the former governor expressed his lack of concern and challenged the authority of the caretaker committee chairman to make such a recommendation. He dismissed the chairman’s actions as mere noise and expressed confidence in his political standing within Ekiti State.

The caretaker committee chairman emphasized that the former governor’s actions were detrimental to the party’s values and unity, leading to the recommendation for expulsion. He highlighted the need for party members to remain focused on strengthening the Ekiti PDP and avoid distractions that could hinder progress.

Overall, the focus remains on building a strong and purposeful PDP in Ekiti State, urging members to prioritize collective well-being and development over individual interests.
