McPherson varsity appoints new bursar

McPherson University has appointed Mrs Aderonke Olukemi Adeofun as its second substantive bursar. The announcement was made in a letter dated August 26, 2024, signed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Rev Dr Babatunde Idowu.

Mrs Adeofun holds dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Zoology from the University of Ibadan in 1987 and Accounting from Crescent University, Abeokuta, in 2013. She also obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2011.

She is a Chartered Accountant and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) since 2012. Additionally, she is a Chartered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

Mrs Adeofun succeeded Mr Ademola Osanyinro as the head of the Bursary Unit, taking over from him in 2023. She has extensive experience in both private and public sectors, with over two decades of work history.

Her career includes roles such as Audit Trainee at a firm of Chartered Accountants in Lagos and financial positions at a manufacturing company in Oyo State. She joined the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 1999 and rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Bursar before her recent appointment at McPherson University.

Mrs Adeofun assumed her new role as the second substantive Bursar of McPherson University on October 2, 2024. Besides her professional achievements, she is actively involved in community service and church activities as a member of the Foursquare Women International.

Married with two children, Mrs Adeofun enjoys reading, traveling, and cooking in her spare time.
