Libya vs Nigeria: CAF keeps parties in suspense

The African Football Confederation has yet to make a public statement about the unresolved issue regarding the cancelled AFCON qualifying Group A match that was supposed to take place on October 15 at Benina Martyrs Stadium. Reports suggest that a Disciplinary Committee meeting was held via video conference where both Libya and Nigeria presented their arguments. The decision to cancel the match came after the Nigerian team protested against being held at Labraq Airport for 18 hours without provisions. Nigeria requested CAF’s intervention in the situation. The CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, mentioned that investigations are ongoing, and strict actions will be taken against any misconduct in handling visiting teams.
