The All Progressives Congress issued a warning to Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf to avoid actions that could incite violence or disorder before the upcoming Local Government election. The APC Chairman in Kano, Abdullahi Abbas, expressed concerns about the governor’s inflammatory remarks at a rally, stating that such behavior was inappropriate for a leader responsible for state security. The governor’s comments at the rally implied support for proceeding with the local council poll despite a court order restraining it. The APC urged the state government to respect the court order and uphold the rule of law to prevent chaos. Justice Amobeda had also prohibited INEC from providing the voter register to KANSIEC and barred security agencies from involvement in the scheduled election.
