A 17-year-old forward from Barcelona, Lamine Yamal, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Kopa Trophy, recognizing him as the top young footballer globally.
The announcement of Yamal’s win was made by the Ballon d’Or organizers, celebrating the Spanish player’s achievement.
Yamal surpassed other talented young players like Arda Güler from Real Madrid, who came in second place. Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United claimed the third spot, with Savinho and Pau Cubarsi from Barcelona securing the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Despite his young age, 17-year-old Yamal has been playing regularly for Barcelona, displaying remarkable skills and maturity in his forward position.
This victory in the Kopa Trophy, an award recognizing the best under-21 player in the world, further solidifies Yamal’s reputation as one of the most promising talents in football.
