Female police officer’s dismissal in order, says Edo command

The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the dismissal of Inspector Edith Uduma for her involvement in a misconduct case against Sgt. Abraham, who was also dismissed.

According to the Police Public Relations Office, Moses Yamu, Inspector Uduma attempted to extort money from Sgt. Abraham and conspired with her husband, Inspector Ibrahim Mohammed, to conceal the incident rather than reporting it for disciplinary action.

The official statement from the Edo State Police Command clarified the events leading to the dismissals, stating that both officers engaged in unethical behavior by attempting to solicit money from Sgt. Abraham to cover up his misconduct.

Sgt. Abraham offered a smaller amount than requested, leading to the exposure of the misconduct and subsequent dismissals of all involved parties.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that no amount of misinformation or propaganda would absolve the dismissed officers from the consequences of their actions, and that they had the right to appeal the decision as per the Police Act and Regulation.
