A 20-year-old transgender individual, formerly known as Xavier Musk and now identified as Vivian Wilson, has made public their intention to leave the United States in response to the recent election results that saw Donald Trump returning to office.
Expressing discomfort with the political climate under Trump’s administration, Wilson shared their decision on Threads, stating, “I don’t see my future in the United States. Even if he’s only in office for four years, the impact of his policies and the beliefs of his supporters will persist,” as reported by a UK publication.
In April 2022, Vivian legally changed her name and gender, opting to sever ties with her father by taking her mother’s maiden name, Wilson. In court documents, she clarified, “I no longer wish to have any connection with my biological father.”
Elon Musk, the tech entrepreneur who supported Trump and has 12 children from different relationships, has publicly discussed his strained relationship with Vivian. Musk has criticized Vivian’s views on wealth and gender identity, alleging that he was misled into supporting her transition.
In response, Vivian refuted her father’s claims, highlighting his absence during her upbringing and his negative remarks about her identity. She emphasized feeling marginalized and stereotyped by Musk’s comments and actions.
