The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, aims to lead the All Progressives Congress to victory in Kano State by 2027. This follows his recent appointment to the position, replacing Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, who criticized the decision.
Ata expressed his commitment to the political cause, emphasizing the importance of reclaiming control of Kano State for the APC. Despite his ministerial responsibilities, he plans to focus on grassroots efforts in Kano Central to achieve this goal.
Acknowledging President Bola Tinubu for the appointment, Ata assured that the APC would secure victory in Kano by the set target year of 2027. He emphasized that his dedication was for the benefit of the people of Kano and Nigeria.
Gwarzo, the former minister who was removed in a recent cabinet reshuffle, expressed disappointment in not being selected as the APC standard-bearer in the 2023 governorship election. He attributed his dismissal to political maneuvers within the party in Kano.
Despite the circumstances, Gwarzo pledged his support to the President’s administration and expressed hope for the party’s success in Kano Central with the leadership of Nasiru Gawuna. He highlighted the need for strategic decision-making to enhance the party’s prospects in the region.
