CrediCorp boss assures Nigerians of Tinubu’s commitment to consumer credit scheme

The CEO of Nigeria Consumer Credit Corporation, Uzoma Nwagba, highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to utilizing the scheme to grant citizens access to essential goods and services.

Nwagba made these remarks during a meeting with the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Walson-Jack.

He mentioned that by the second quarter of 2025, around 400,000 civil servants would benefit from the credit program, with 25,000 already having accessed it.

Nwagba also introduced the corporation’s CALM Fund, focusing on providing CNG conversions and Solar panels, particularly for civil servants.

The corporation’s aim is to ensure that 400,000 civil servants can access credit by mid-2025, with plans already in motion for broader public access.

In a recent development, a partnership with Credit Direct was announced to enhance consumer credit access, starting with civil servants and aiming to reach 500,000 people nationwide.

Credit Direct, a significant lender to civil servants in Nigeria and a subsidiary of FCMB Group, is a key partner in this initiative.

A beneficiary, Hauwa Bawa from the Ministry of Labour and Productivity, shared her positive experience with the scheme, expressing gratitude for the seamless process and how it assisted her in managing her farm and household expenses.
