BREAKING: Tinubu confers posthumous national honour on late COAS Lagbaja

During a burial ceremony in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu posthumously honored the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, with the Commander of the Federal Republic title. Tinubu praised Lagbaja’s service to the nation throughout his military career, calling him a true patriot and exemplary officer. He expressed deep appreciation for Lagbaja’s dedication to the country and the armed forces. Tinubu described Lagbaja as a trusted advisor and a leader who cared deeply for his soldiers and their families. Despite the loss, Tinubu urged the nation and the armed forces to carry on bravely in honor of Lagbaja’s memory. The late Army Chief passed away on November 5, 2024, following an illness.
