Cooking gas dealers urge customers to monitor refills

The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Retailers Association of Nigeria has addressed concerns regarding gas refills and dismissed claims of underfilling as baseless. They acknowledged isolated incidents of malpractice but emphasized that these do not represent the entire industry. Factors affecting gas consumption, such as family size and frequency of use, were highlighted. Unauthorized usage by others, leakages from damaged equipment, and negligence in maintenance were identified as common causes of gas wastage. Consumers were advised to weigh their cylinders before and after refilling to ensure accuracy and encouraged to seek clarification from the association if needed. The association also discussed the composition of cooking gas and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining ethical standards within the industry. Consumers were urged to look for outlets displaying LPGAR-NUPENG Safety Plates for added assurance.
