The Adamawa State House of Assembly has refuted allegations that a newly passed law to establish additional chiefdoms aims to oust the Lamido of Adamawa as head of the state’s traditional council. Speaking to reporters, Alhaji Musa Mahmud, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, clarified that the law’s provisions were misinterpreted and unfounded. He emphasized the establishment of zonal traditional councils in the bill, where the chairmanship rotates among the North, Central, and Southern traditional councils. Mahmud urged the public to disregard misinformation circulating and highlighted the importance of understanding the law accurately.
