The police in Benue State has apprehended a lecturer from a local university for allegedly orchestrating the kidnapping of a colleague’s wife. The woman was abducted by a group of men, robbed of N1.3 million, assaulted, and left unconscious in a remote area. Fortunately, she was eventually discovered and taken to a health clinic for treatment.
The state police spokesperson verified the incident, stating that the victim recognized her husband’s colleague during the abduction but was ignored when she sought help. The victim recounted being flagged down while driving and then coerced at gunpoint to change her route. The abductors received instructions to harm her from the lecturer, causing distress to the victim.
The lecturer has been taken into custody in connection with the crime, and investigations are ongoing. The victim’s husband confirmed the incident and is cooperating with authorities in the inquiry.
