Oyo explosion: Makinde inaugurates relief disbursement committee

Oyo State’s Governor recently established a committee to oversee the management and distribution of funds for those affected by the Bodija Explosion. The incident, which occurred on Dejo Oyelese Street in Ibadan, resulted in casualties and injuries. Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of transparency in handling the relief fund, stating that the committee’s role is to support those who suffered losses, not to provide compensation. He also mentioned plans to repair the road and erect a monument at the site of the explosion.

The committee, chaired by the state’s Deputy Governor, comprises individuals from various professional bodies and organizations. Attendees at the inauguration included former government officials, senior executives, and other notable figures. Governor Makinde expressed gratitude to the organizations that assisted during the incident and urged efficient utilization of resources to aid those in need.
