The coach of Ghana has expressed confidence ahead of the crucial African Nations Championship qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles B in Uyo, stating that his team will score in the match. The Ghanaian team is determined to secure a victory to qualify for CHAN for the second consecutive time.
Despite aiming to maintain a clean sheet, the coach emphasized their goal-scoring abilities during the final training session. The outcome of the match, set to take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, will determine the team advancing to the 2024 CHAN tournament in East Africa.
Historically, Ghana has had the upper hand in CHAN encounters with Nigeria, winning two matches and drawing three out of six previous meetings. The Eagles B, led by stand-in coach Daniel Ogunmodede, need a victory to qualify for their first CHAN finals since 2018.
The match will be officiated by Moroccan referee Hamza El Fariq, with assistance from Abdessamad Abertoune and Zakaria Bouchtaoui as assistant referees. Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone will serve as the match commissioner. The winner will progress to the upcoming CHAN tournament scheduled for February 1-28, 2025, across Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
