Kebbi spent N79bn on projects in 2024 —Commissioner

The Kebbi State Government has disclosed that a substantial amount of N79 billion was utilized for capital projects in 2024 to facilitate rapid growth and development within the state. The Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Abdullahi Umar-Muslim, shared this information during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi. The projects were strategically planned to have a positive impact on various sectors of the state’s economy, including agriculture, healthcare, and education.

Governor Nasir Idris’ administration has successfully completed significant infrastructural developments and kickstarted several impactful projects in just a year and a half. Key completed projects include the State Ultra-Modern Secretariat Complex in Gwadangaji and the dualisation of the Birnin Kebbi-Ambursa road. Other achievements consist of road constructions, hospital renovations, and the establishment of essential facilities like motor parks and fuel depots.

The state also invested in renovating and expanding the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, constructing culverts and retaining walls along roads, and carrying out repairs on bridges. Additionally, various health facilities, classrooms, and Mosques were refurbished and built across the state to enhance the overall quality of life for residents. The commissioner praised the governor for his strategic decisions in engaging experienced and qualified contractors for the transformative projects.
