The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, recently visited lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi and expressed his admiration for him. Obi praised Farotimi for his courage and dedication to the fight for a better Nigeria, despite facing adversity.
Obi highlighted Farotimi’s unwavering spirit and commitment to good governance in the country. He wished Farotimi a successful year as they both continued their efforts towards national development.
Farotimi, who was recently released from a correctional facility in Ekiti after being arrested on December 3, faced allegations of defamation and cyberbullying from Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Aare Afe Babalola. The arrest was reportedly linked to Babalola’s claims that Farotimi defamed him in a book titled Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
