Real Madrid staged a remarkable comeback in the final minutes of their LaLiga match against Valencia, securing a 2-1 victory at Mestalla. Despite being reduced to 10 men with Vinícius Júnior’s red card, Luka Modrić and Jude Bellingham emerged as the heroes of the match.
Originally scheduled for November 2, 2024, the game was postponed due to severe flooding. Finally played two months later, Valencia took the lead through Hugo Duro before Modrić equalized in the 85th minute. Bellingham then sealed the win with a goal in stoppage time.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged his team’s first-half struggles but praised their resilience in the second half. He expressed disagreement with Vinícius’ red card and hinted at appealing the decision. Bellingham, who missed a penalty earlier, redeemed himself with the winning goal.
The victory strengthened Real Madrid’s position at the top of the LaLiga table, putting them two points ahead of Atlético Madrid. With the title race heating up, Ancelotti’s team showcased their championship mentality once again.
