CAF Cup: Atule scores twice as Enyimba thrash Black Bulls 4-1

Joseph Atule scored twice in a game where Nigerian club Enyimba displayed a strong performance, defeating Mozambican visitors Black Bulls 4-1 in the CAF Confederation Cup. Despite the win, Enyimba is currently at the bottom of Group D but is only one point behind second-placed Al Masry of Egypt with two games remaining. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage, and Enyimba aims to become the first Nigerian team to win this competition.

Enyimba will face Masry in Uyo, looking to avenge a previous 2-0 loss suffered in North Africa. Following a series of disappointing results, Enyimba made a coaching change, bringing in veteran Stanley Eguma to replace Yemi Olarenwaju. Atule scored two goals, with Ifeanyi Ihemekwele and Brown Ideye also finding the net for Enyimba.

In another fixture, South African side Stellenbosch boosted their chances of progressing to the quarter-finals by defeating Desportivo Lunda Sul of Angola 2-0. Former New Zealand midfielder Andre de Jong scored both goals. Renaissance Berkane of Morocco secured their spot in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 victory over Stade Malien of Mali. Simba from Tanzania won 1-0 against CS Sfaxien of Tunisia, placing them at the top of Group A alongside CS Constantine of Algeria.

Sfaxien suffered their fourth consecutive group stage loss and recently parted ways with their Portuguese coach, Alexandre Santos.
