Police name Maitama, Apo, 15 others criminal blackspots in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory recently identified 17 areas in the nation’s capital as criminal black-spots. These areas include Apo-Dutse Panteka, Diplomatic Zone, New PDP Secretariat, Kabusa Panteka, and others. The police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, mentioned that these black-spots were recognized during strategic raids conducted by the police.

Daily raids are crucial for maintaining law and order in the FCT. The police command’s proactive operations aim to prevent crime and protect public and private infrastructure. During these raids, a total of 348 suspects engaged in various criminal activities were apprehended.

The efforts of the FCT Police Command have led to significant achievements, such as the arrest of suspects, prosecution of offenders, and recovery of weapons, manhole covers, and streetlights. The command has seized trucks loaded with vandalized metals, recovered manhole covers and streetlight poles, confiscated AEDC armoured cables, and retrieved firearms, among other successes.
