Police authorities in Bauchi State have taken into custody two individuals for offenses related to child abuse and criminal threats. Additionally, they have successfully disrupted an armed robbery group, seizing weapons and stolen goods in the process.
A statement released by the Bauchi State Police Command’s spokesperson detailed the incidents. One of the cases involved a 41-year-old man named Aminu Musa who was reported for engaging in inappropriate behavior with an 11-year-old boy named Hassan. The suspect was accused of coercing the child into his living quarters near his workplace and subjecting him to repeated assaults. Musa was also found to have enticed the victim with food and money.
A separate incident involved a 38-year-old businessman known as Adamu Abdullahi, who was reported for mistreating a 10-year-old boy while he was selling items. Abdullahi allegedly threatened the child and took him to an unfinished building where the abuse occurred. Upon investigation, Abdullahi admitted to the accusations.
Furthermore, intelligence reports led to the arrest of two suspects, Abubakar Yakubu and Almustapha Hassan, who were caught in possession of locally crafted firearms. A search of their residence uncovered hidden pistols in the ceiling. The suspects confessed to acquiring the weapons from an unidentified source and were found to be involved in various robbery activities, particularly targeting specific areas in Bauchi.
Recovered items from the suspects included firearms, motorcycles, a machete, ATM cards, and a ring. The police command emphasized its dedication to protecting the community and encouraged the public to report any suspicious behavior promptly.
