Kogi gov promises free healthcare, support for fallen heroes’ families

Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has expressed his firm commitment to supporting the families of fallen heroes during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration. He emphasized the bravery and patriotism of these individuals in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity. Governor Ododo highlighted the significance of the day as a time to honor and recognize the contributions of the armed forces to nation-building.

He assured ongoing support for the families of fallen heroes and veterans who have served the country with distinction. Additionally, he called for unity among Nigerians to maintain the peace achieved under the current administration. Governor Ododo announced the enrollment of widows and children of fallen heroes into the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme for free health coverage.

He reiterated his support for injured officers and men of the armed forces in Kogi State, emphasizing the importance of unity in nation-building. The governor celebrated the gallant men who sacrificed their lives for the nation, emphasizing values of peace, unity, and hope. He commended the President for prioritizing peace and security in the administration’s agenda.

The event included a wreath-laying ceremony where Governor Ododo, military commanders, traditional rulers, and representatives of army veterans paid their respects to the fallen heroes. The ceremony honored those who lost their lives in various military conflicts throughout Nigeria’s history.
