UAE President to visit Nigeria, strengthen economic ties

The leader of the United Arab Emirates has agreed to visit Nigeria in 2025 following an invitation extended by President Bola Tinubu. Tinubu, currently in Abu Dhabi for Sustainability Week, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two countries to enhance Nigeria’s economy. Discussions between the two leaders took place at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.

Sustainability Week serves as a platform for discussing global sustainable development and addressing issues like climate change, water scarcity, and energy crises. President Tinubu commended the UAE President for hosting the event successfully and presented Nigeria’s stance on climate matters and other global challenges.

President Al Nahyan expressed his country’s commitment to boosting economic cooperation with Nigeria and exploring avenues to attract investments. Tinubu highlighted the positive impacts of Nigeria’s economic reforms, which have increased foreign investor confidence, leading to significant investments from international companies. The meeting was attended by officials from both countries, including Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance, and National Security Adviser, as well as key figures from the UAE.
