PDP trustees insist on February NEC meeting

The People’s Democratic Party Board of Trustees has emphasized the need for the National Working Committee to hold a National Executive Committee meeting in February for party leaders to address unresolved issues. Following the recent crisis within the party, there have been calls for the acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, to step down. During the 98th NEC meeting, various resolutions were made, including the formation of a reconciliation and disciplinary committee. Despite several postponements of subsequent NEC meetings, the PDP Governors Forum has urged the NWC to ensure the meeting takes place by February. The BoT Chairman highlighted the importance of unity and peace within the party, expressing the need to convene the NEC meeting promptly. The party’s National Publicity Secretary confirmed that the NWC will prioritize convening the NEC meeting to address critical issues affecting the party.
