The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency recently foiled an attempt by a 26-year-old nursing student to smuggle 76 wraps of cocaine to India. The student was apprehended in Kano, just hours before her scheduled flight. She was found in possession of the illegal substance, which was meant to be ingested before her flight. The agency’s statement detailed the arrest and mentioned the interception of a courier carrying the cocaine.
The student confessed to being recruited by a drug cartel in India and was promised a substantial sum for successfully delivering the contraband. Additionally, the statement highlighted other successful operations conducted by the NDLEA in various locations, resulting in the arrest of multiple suspects and the seizure of significant quantities of illicit drugs.
Operations in Lagos led to the discovery of cannabis and other substances, while raids in different areas uncovered tramadol pills and various narcotics. Arrests in Kano and Kwara also yielded significant drug seizures, including skunk, Molly tablets, and cannabis. The statement concluded with details of additional arrests in Taraba and Kwara states involving the transportation of tramadol pills and other illicit substances.
