Bomb explosion kills civilian JTF leader in Borno

An explosion has occurred in Kawuri, a town in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in tragic consequences.

Reports indicate that the blast, which occurred on Tuesday, resulted in the loss of life of the vice chairman of the Kawuri unit of the Civilian Joint Taskforce, Abba Godori.

An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, mentioned that the late Mr. Godori accidentally triggered the explosive device, suspected to have been planted by insurgents the day before.

According to the source, “Mr. Godori unknowingly set off the bomb while on patrol, unknowingly following the path of the terrorists until the tragic incident unfolded.”

When reached for comment, the spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, ASP Nahum Daso, stated that he had not received any official brief on the matter.

He mentioned, “I am currently unaware of the situation. I will gather information and provide updates before the end of the day.”
