A tragic incident occurred at the Audit Department of the Federal Medical Centre in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State. An employee named Oluwaseyi Adeniji reportedly passed away after jumping into a well in the Obantoko area of Abeokuta. The incident took place shortly after dinner on a Sunday evening.
Although the exact reason for Adeniji’s actions remains unknown, sources suggest that he may have been struggling with mental health issues and had received treatment in the past. The hospital’s Head of Public Relations, Dr. Segun Orisajo, confirmed the unfortunate event, describing it as shocking for the hospital community.
Dr. Orisajo expressed deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting Adeniji’s dedication and hard work as a staff member. The Medical Director, Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu, extended his condolences to the family, department, and the hospital as a whole.
As of now, the state police spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, has not responded to inquiries regarding the incident. The community mourns the loss of Adeniji and hopes for comfort for his family during this difficult time.
