The Anambra State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the tragic killing of a man on the Onitsha-Owerri Expressway. Witnesses reported that the man was shot by unidentified gunmen in a Toyota Sienna vehicle. The attackers left the victim at the scene after shooting him in the stomach.
A witness, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted the incident. The Ozubulu Division police removed the victim’s body the next day. The Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that the victim’s body was recovered after a distress call.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was shot by armed men who then fled. The police urged the public to assist in identifying the victim and providing any relevant information to aid the investigation. The victim’s body has been taken to the morgue, and updates on the case will be shared in due course.
