The Governor of Kano State recently welcomed the Ambassador of Tunisia to Nigeria, along with a delegation of government officials and business leaders. The visit aimed to enhance collaboration in various sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, culture, and trade. During the meeting, the governor emphasized Kano’s role as a prominent commercial center in sub-Saharan Africa and discussed potential partnerships with Tunisia in agriculture, garment production, dairy processing, and dyeing industries.
To facilitate business interactions, the governor directed relevant ministries to organize an exhibition showcasing Kano’s economic strengths. He also highlighted the significance of the Kano Dry Port in promoting international trade and mentioned plans for local businesses to import goods from Tunisia through the facility. The governor expressed gratitude for the hospitality shown to Kano entrepreneurs in Tunisia and assured reciprocal support for Tunisian investors in Kano.
In response, the Tunisian Ambassador praised Kano’s economic potential and expressed commitment to fostering long-term partnerships with the state. Both parties expressed confidence in a stronger relationship, focusing on increased trade, investment, and cultural exchange. This visit further solidified Kano’s position as a key player in regional and international markets.
