The Anambra State Police Command has announced the arrest of nine suspects in connection to the killing of a member representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Justice Azuka. Azuka, who was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, was found dead near the second Niger Bridge. The Commissioner of Police in Anambra, Nnaghe Itam, revealed that the suspects were apprehended by a joint security team during a mission to rescue the abducted lawmaker. Two pump-action guns were seized from the suspects, and one of them was injured in a confrontation with the police. The arrested individuals include Ugochukwu Onuorah, Ikemefuna Ossai, Ikenna Orugu, Chibuike Obiefuna, Chinonso Olisa, Chinedu Okoli, David Ojini, and Peter Sunday, who was identified by a distinctive tattoo inscription on his chest.
