In Anambra State, a 37-year-old man named Kosisochukwu Okafor was arrested by the State Police Command for the alleged murder of his brother, Emmanuel Okafor. The tragic incident took place in Adegbe Village, Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses reported that a dispute over food escalated into a physical fight, resulting in Kosisochukwu using a stick to fatally wound his brother. The victim was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The Anambra State Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest, stating that Kosisochukwu was apprehended by police and vigilante operatives. The suspect admitted to the crime, confessing that the altercation was sparked by a disagreement over food usage. The case has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for further investigation and will proceed to court once the inquiry is completed.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of managing conflicts and emotions within families to prevent such irreversible consequences.
