The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency is seeking the public’s help in locating four individuals wanted for their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking network associated with a Lagos drug kingpin known as Barryshine.
Barryshine was apprehended on August 26, 2024, after being monitored by the anti-narcotics agency for two years.
According to a statement from the agency’s spokesperson, the suspect, identified as the Managing Director/CEO of Barryshine Suleiman Nigeria Ltd., was flagged by the agency for his suspected participation in four unsuccessful attempts to smuggle cocaine to Saudi Arabia and Qatar via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos between 2022 and 2024.
Several of Barryshine’s couriers have been arrested, tried, and convicted by the NDLEA, while he currently faces multiple criminal charges.
The spokesperson also named four additional suspects now on the wanted list: Olarenwaju Abdulai (also known as Alhaji Loyingbo); Oluwafemi Abidoye (also known as Igbono, Baba Eje, Ade Iwaya, Femi Iwaya); Olumuyiwa Ilori (also known as Murphy); Alate Bukki of Kaffy Travels.
“These suspects have been declared wanted following a court order issued by Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos,” the spokesperson stated.
The judge also mandated that a public notice containing the suspects’ photos should be prominently displayed.
“Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the four wanted suspects is urged to contact the nearest NDLEA command, call the toll-free helpline at 080010203040, or send direct messages to any of the agency’s social media accounts,” the statement concluded.
