A recent operation led by the Department for Combating Illegal Migration in Libya resulted in the deportation of 48 Nigerian women and two children, with support from Nigeria’s consular services and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The repatriation process took place through Mitiga International Airport to ensure the safe return of these individuals to Nigeria. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to assist Nigerian nationals facing challenges abroad, particularly in conflict-affected regions like Libya. The information about this repatriation was shared in a statement by Migrant Rescue Watch. The statement highlighted the collaborative effort between DCIM, Nigerian consular services, and the IOM in facilitating the return of these migrants.
