Glo deploys infrastructure to strengthen network coverage

Globacom, a Nigerian telecommunications company, has been actively enhancing its network infrastructure across the country to provide better services for its customers. The ongoing network upgrade involves the deployment of new sites and the enhancement of existing ones to deliver high-speed data and improved customer experience to a larger audience.

Despite recent adjustments in telecom tariffs, Globacom remains dedicated to offering competitive rates for voice and data services while continuing to invest in building a top-notch telecommunications infrastructure. The network upgrade covers various aspects of telecom infrastructure, including core network, access network, transmission, fiber network, metro access, backbone infrastructure, and passive equipment expansion.

The company has already introduced numerous new sites in multiple states and key markets to expand network capacity, alleviate congestion, and enhance voice and data services for subscribers. Additionally, the integration of LTE 2600 sites in strategic locations aims to boost data speed and minimize network congestion.

In line with the government’s broadband penetration initiative, Globacom has increased data network capacity across many sites to enhance customer experience in terms of data speed, network quality, and coverage. The deployment of additional 2G, 3G, and 4G base stations nationwide will further improve network coverage and capacity to meet customer demand for services.

To support these expansion efforts and ensure seamless access to high-speed services, the company has upgraded the Glo1 submarine cable capacity. Furthermore, a massive nationwide initiative is underway to upgrade power and fiber infrastructure, involving the deployment of new generators and the replacement of old fiber routes with new ones to enhance network availability and reliability.
