In Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, a video surfaced showing a physically challenged man named Sanni Babatunde Akeem accusing two monarchs, Oba Fatai Akamo and Oba Kayode Sodimu, of forcefully taking over his farmland. The man alleged that the monarchs, accompanied by thugs, invaded his land, assaulted his workers, and used heavy machinery to clear the land. The man, visibly upset in the video, called for intervention from the government and authorities.
During a press conference at Oba Akamo’s palace to mark his 21st coronation anniversary, a journalist asked him about the video. The monarch became enraged and ordered the journalist’s arrest, accusing him of being sent to provoke him. The journalist was taken to the police station but was later returned to the palace, where his phone was confiscated, and all recordings were deleted as per the monarch’s orders.
