The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps reported the arrest of 71 suspects for various alleged offenses in 2024. The Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, mentioned that among the suspects, 21 were linked to oil theft, one to illegal mining, and 49 to other offenses. Keshinro highlighted that the implementation of operational strategies led to a significant decrease in vandalism and other crimes during the year.
He credited the success to the cooperative efforts between the command, other security agencies, and local communities. Keshinro emphasized the commitment of the command to collaborate with residents and corporate entities for the effective execution of its duties. Additionally, he noted that the command had achieved two convictions, taken seven cases to court, and obtained a total of seven convictions and two judgments in the stated period.
