A tragic incident occurred at Xinfeng Plastics Limited in Sagamu, Ogun State, where a 19-year-old machine operator lost his life due to electrocution. The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the teenager was operating a palletising machine in the factory when he suffered a fatal electric shock. Despite being rushed to a medical center, the doctor on duty pronounced him dead.
The company’s Nigerian manager reported the incident to the police, detailing that the young employee was electrocuted while working on the machine assigned to him. Following the incident, detectives visited the scene and conducted an investigation.
The victim’s family, however, declined any investigation and requested the immediate release of the corpse for burial. The tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of workplace safety and the need for proper training to prevent such accidents.
