The authorities in Ogun State are currently on the lookout for an individual known as Oju from Calabar, Cross River, who allegedly fatally stabbed his 36-year-old wife, Josephine Isaac, in Agbure community, Ogun Waterside Local Government area. The State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, revealed that the incident was reported by the deceased’s younger sister, Blessing Isaac. According to Blessing, the tragic event unfolded during a heated disagreement between Josephine and her Calabar-native husband, identified as Oju. The altercation turned violent, leading to Oju stabbing his wife multiple times in the neck and chest before fleeing the scene. Despite efforts to save her, Josephine succumbed to her injuries at Ibiade General Hospital. The police swiftly responded by gathering potential evidence at the crime scene and moving the victim’s body to the mortuary for further examination. Investigations are ongoing, with plans to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta. The police strongly denounced domestic violence, urging individuals to seek non-violent conflict resolution methods. Citizens were advised to report any suspicions of domestic abuse to law enforcement immediately. Efforts to locate the suspect are in progress, with the assurance that justice will prevail. Anyone with pertinent information related to the case was encouraged to come forward and assist the authorities.
